Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient‑related items to their destinations enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perform their duties in an effective manner. Ensures positive patient and customer satisfaction, proper utilization of body mechanics, adherence to policies, procedures and standards established by the Hospital, Department and Regulatory Agencies. Acts as a positive role model and team player demonstrating HHC mission and values. Must be sensitive and attentive to all patient/guest needs.Transporting Patients, Medical Equipment and Patient Related ItemsCare of Equipment and SuppliesPerform other related duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum RequirementsMust be able to read and speak EnglishExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to follow directionsAbility to solve basic problemsFollows hospital specific protocols – for example, isolation and radiation precautions, among othersAdheres to all policies, procedures and standards established by all regulatory agencies including but not limited to Federal, State, JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC.Ability to maintain a patient/customer focus fostering a teamwork environment.Adheres to all Human Resource policies and procedures including those listed in the Employee Handbook, HHC Code of Conduct, departmental guidelines, standard work documents and new initiatives.Ability to transport patients with specific needs.
