As a Shipping Dispatcher at FLSmidth Inc., you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the daily outbound shipment of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers while maintaining efficient operations.
• Plan, schedule, and dispatch outbound shipments, including truckloads, LTL, and international freight, ensuring compliance with all shipping regulations and customer requirements.
• Communicate effectively with carriers, warehouses, sales teams, and customers regarding shipment status, potential delays, and delivery arrangements.
• Utilize and maintain transportation management systems (TMS) and other software to track shipments, generate shipping documents, and manage inventory.
• Monitor and resolve any shipping discrepancies, damages, or issues that may arise, escalating complex problems to management as needed.
• Ensure all necessary customs documentation is prepared accurately and submitted on time for international shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities, including dispatch logs, delivery confirmations, and freight invoices.
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure products are picked, packed, and loaded efficiently and safely.
• Implement and adhere to FLSmidth Inc.'s safety policies and procedures throughout all shipping operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping processes and reduce operational costs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a shipping, dispatch, or logistics coordination role, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including Incoterms.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
