Automated Controls Technician – Commercial HVACCharleston, WV 25301Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building automation controls systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and networking to support commercial and industrial facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, program, and configure building automation control systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems.Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on components, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software.Conduct system diagnostics and respond to service calls to resolve technical issues efficiently.Work closely with customers, project managers, and engineers to ensure systems operate according to specifications.Provide training and technical support to customers and end-users.Assist in system upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning of new controls installations.Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in building automation.Adhere to all safety standards and company policies.Assist Service Mechanics as needed in troubleshooting or making repairs.Perform Control PM inspections either on site or remotely, dependent on‑site connectivity.QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical Engineering, Building Automation, or related field preferred.2+ years of experience in building automation systems service, maintenance, or installation.Strong understanding of HVAC principles, control systems, and energy management strategies.Experience with leading Automated Controls platforms such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, or Schneider Electric.Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.Basic networking knowledge, including IP‑based communication and system integration.Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.Strong communication and customer service skills.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.Preferred QualificationsA strong HVAC Service background.Experience with programming and configuring automated controls software.Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks communication protocols.Certifications in building automation systems or HVAC (e.g., Niagara AX/N4, Tridium, or equivalent).Experience in industrial or large commercial facilities.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces as required.Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including mechanical rooms and outdoor settings.BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Ongoing paid training and professional development opportunities.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Driver's License.Electrical Licensing.If you are a detail‑oriented technician with a passion for building automation controls and energy efficiency, we encourage you to apply and join our team!Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.#J-18808-Ljbffr
