This is a position that requires you to be proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based systems. You will answer phones, interact with the public, work with multiple reporting systems, maintain and update data. You will be working with sensitive information and must submit to a background check. Starting salary is $36, 282 with an excellent benefit package including health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and paid sick, vacation and observed holidays. * Handles all records on sick leave, vacation and holidays.
* Handles payroll information.
* Prepares purchase orders for approval of payment by City Council.
* Answers calls and meet with the public daily, as well as other agencies on department matters. General Work Performed: * Attends any necessary meetings.
* Answers phone calls.
* Types police reports.
* Keeps records and files for the department.
* Performs related work as required. Knowledge and Skills: * Knowledge of general office procedures.
* Ability to make accurate arithmetical computations free of error.
* Attention to detail and the ability to post extensive figures accurately and legibly.
* Proficient in keyboarding/typing.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to deal with a different variety of people and departments in a professional manner. Minimum Requirements of Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possess a General Education Diploma. Previous clerical experience would be beneficial.
