Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 05/25/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: May 25, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2 years of experience, ARRT or NMTCB certification, and skills in IV starts and EKG for an acute care hospital setting. Details Acute care hospital Nuclear Medicine department with 4 imaging rooms/scanners Equipment includes 2 Siemens E-cam and 2 Philips Brightview gamma cameras EMR: Meditech Expanse; PACS: AGFA IMPAX Common studies include cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung scans, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies Average of 12–15 scans/studies per day IV starts required Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8-hour day shifts Rotating weekend call coverage every 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 24-hour coverage) Weekday call requirement of one day per week when not on weekend call No floating to other areas required Radiologist is in-house; department is supervised by a Lead Tech 13-week contract Requirements Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience ARRT or NMTCB certification required BLS certification required NMTCB-NCT (Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist) certification required WV State License required if applicable Proficiency in IV starts and EKG required Driver's license copy required for consideration Additional Information Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging studies including cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies Department-specific orientation is provided Black scrubs required — no embroidery, no t-shirts; jackets must be scrub jackets; no open-toe or backless Crocs Scrubs are not provided by the facility Radiation badge must be provided by the staffing agency; the facility does not supply one Candidates must live more than 50 miles from this WVU facility to be eligible Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before returning Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year before a 2-year break is required Two supervisor/peer references required for consideration, including one supervisor reference if perm employment occurred in the last 12 months Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-707657.
