Details Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital (COTH member) with 838 staffed beds SLP Acute Care unit treating medically complex patients including respiratory failure, dysphagia, ICU myelopathy, cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary cases Day shift, 8-hour shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm Patient ratio of 1:12 on weekdays and 1:20 on weekends One weekend shift required per month Charting in Cerner (SBAR, Pyxis) 13-week contract Requirements Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required; pending state license accepted for consideration but active license must be in hand prior to start Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required Current BLS certification required MBSImP certification required Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify; candidates residing 75–99 miles away may be submitted for facility approval Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration License required if applicable Additional Information Major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) Orientations occur every other week, with start dates on Mondays Scrub color: black Free parking available for travelers RTO requests should be discussed during the interview process Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergy from an allergist or physician is accepted COVID vaccine is not required Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to return as a traveler until 2 years after their last day of permanent employment American Traveler Job ID P-698599.
