Position Description
Job Title: Executive Assistant
Division: Executive
Headquarters: Guthrie Agricultural Center, Charleston, WV
Reports To: Commissioner of Agriculture
Supervisory
Responsibility: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Nature of Work:
The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external matters pertaining to the Office of the Commissioner and/or Senior Management and must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of activities including sensitive or confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.

Working Conditions:
Office environment, working extended hours as needed; sitting, walking, driving, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Administrative / Secretarial Science.
Experience:
Ten years of progressively complex, full-time paid administrative experience. At least five years of experience training and/or overseeing the work of lower-level administrative support staff.
Substitutions:
Bachelor's degree may be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience.
