Job Overview
The TE PBL Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing quality management for Private/Brand Label (PBL) suppliers, leading and working as part of a team to maintain high-quality/performance standards across all TE products from PBL suppliers.
The position will be challenging and will require the ability to drive supplier process and product quality improvements and work with the TE internal team to meet quality goals. The focus of the role is to supply high-quality products to deliver an Extraordinary Customer Experience.
Tasks Summary& Responsibilities
Deliver on all KPIs that help the business achieve its goal
Lead and drive suppliers' quality improvement continuously based on TE internal or customer requirements.
Customer complaint handling, work with TE CQE or directly with customers for complaints and feedback to the supplier, verify the root cause, and follow up on actions
Investigate the root cause of Quality issues and follow through with timely and effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence for customer and internal problems.
Regular quality system audit or process audit for suppliers.
Supplier's performance metrics development and report to top management
Supplier performance assessment and training.
CoPQ & Yield improvement; Management review and action implementation.
Define cosmetic standard and QIP dimension, and drive suppliers to follow up
Coordinate annual audit / onsite process audit when a quality issue or a customer complaint arises
NPI & Migration projects (BKM/GR&R/FAI/Safe Launch/Sample verification) follow-up and improvements/FAAR package preparation
Follow the product development as an APQP requirement and lead PPAP verification for process and production.
Product process control(identify risk and work out mitigation plan)
5M1E change control verification, follow-up approval process on the customer side, and implement the process on the supplier side
Monitor supplier quality performance, summarize scorecard for supplier performance, and request improvement for high-risk suppliers.
Job Requirements
Evaluate, qualify, approve appropriate new, competitive suppliers.
Researching, evaluating and making recommendations regarding the selection of potential suppliers.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to collect required documentation, submit forms, obtain approvals and enter into internal systems.
Determining feasibility commitments related to production process and product.
Educational and Professional Background
Educational Degree: B.S. degree (or above) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional Experience: 8-12 years' experience in supplier quality or related quality functions, with experience in connector, cable assembly, cage assembly, and antenna manufacturing a plus. Prefer experience in the Automotive Industry.
Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of supplier management and certification, as an ISO 9001/IATF 16949 internal auditor, is preferred.
Familiar with APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, SPC, and FMEA.
A clear understanding of connectors, cable assemblies, antennas, busbars, quality, and requirements, including measurement techniques, would be a distinct advantage.
Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, such as 8D, 5-Why, and 5M1E.
Good knowledge in quality tools such as BKM, Cpk, 8D.
Demonstrated negotiation skills, good communication in bridging between TE and suppliers on the quality side.
Ability for periodic travel required. (25%~50%)
Strong communication skills, good at English, including writing, reading, and speaking.
Connector/cable assembly/antenna/busbar manufacturing experience is a plus.

Job requires regular travel.

Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $101,700 - $152,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location).
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits.
