Salary: Per Nicholas County Pay Scale for day-to-day subs, based on experience and education level per NCBOE salary schedule scale.
Reports to: Building Principal
Evaluation: Evaluated annually by the building principal/immediate supervisor in accordance with WV State Code§ l 8A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5314, and Nicholas County Board of Education Policy GCNB.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, General Equivalent Development Certificate (GED) per West Virginia Code § l 8A-2-5
- Personnel must be or have been classified in this category, or must pass the state prescribed exam for this position per West Virginia Code § l 8A-4-8e
- Criminal background check per WV Code§18-5-1Sc
- The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the Job Description
Description/Summary
Personnel employed to perform general clerical tasks, prepare reports and tabulations, and operate office machines
Clerk I means a person employed to perform clerical tasks.
Clerk II means a person employed to perform general clerical tasks, prepare reports and tabulations, and operate office machines.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed drugs while in the workplace. Alcohol and controlled substances which affect employee productivity, safety or judgment in the workplace will not be tolerated.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintains files necessary for the function of the office.
- Does clerical tasks regarding student attendance or absence, lunch reports, transportation, and student discipline.
- Process mail for the office.
- Types routine reports, lunch reports, financial repo1ts, etc.
- Operates duplication equipment and duplicates material for teachers.
- Maintains and requisitions office supplies.
- Assists secretary where possible.
- Does typing for assistant principal(s).
- Maintains positive work habits.
- Performs duties efficiently and productively.
- Maintains and/or upgrades job-related skills.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal or supervisor.
- Develops and maintains a safe work environment.
