Summary Description
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and special financial reports.
Essential Functions
Heavily involved in preparation and first-level review of internal and external (SEC/Regulatory/Compliance) financial reporting
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes and report results
Involved in the preparation and first-level review of various daily and monthly account reconciliations (general ledger, internal deposit accounts, etc.)
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, FDICIA and internally developed guidelines
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5+ years working in an Accounting or Finance role (financial institution experience preferred)
Various monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines require availability to work beyond 40 hours per week (including weekend) when necessary
Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work

Critical Skills / Expertise
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office products (Excel skills must be strong)
Strong attention to detail and proactively manages multiple projects ensure internally/externally designated task timelines are met
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to independently interact with departments throughout the organizations
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
Able to assume responsibility, follow-through, meet commitments and use good judgment
