Your exceptional soft skills will be integral to managing ambiguity, meeting tight deadlines, fostering strong relationships across finance and business teams, and juggling multiple priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading compliance activities as necessary to meet SEC registered investment advisor and NFA registered commodity trading advisor requirements.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial presentations for CBAM management.
  • Analyzing data against business drivers to uncover trends and issues.
  • Staying updated on industry developments, accounting regulations, and trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide valuable insights.
  • Preparing annual US GAAP financial statements for CBAM and supporting the annual audit process.
  • Partnering with the accounting team to implement new accounting standards and adapt to new or modified products.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures aligned with Coinbase global requirements and assisting in the development of new processes.
  • Guaranteeing that internal controls for CBAM are effectively designed, implemented, and maintained for SOX compliance.
  • Streamlining, automating, maintaining, and improving processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within the Controllership organization.
  • Supporting management with special projects as needed.
  • Overseeing vendor billing relationships, working with the accounts payable team to address payment inquiries promptly.
  • Preparing (or reviewing) receivables and payables to/from fund entities.
  • Collaborating with Compliance and Regulatory teams for quarterly and annual filings.

What we look for in you:

  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and COSO frameworks.
  • Expertise in reporting and compliance standards for SEC registered investment advisors and NFA registered commodity trading advisors.
  • Experience in fund accounting.
  • Proven ability to serve as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders.
  • Capability to work cross-functionally to gather facts, understand business needs, articulate accounting requirements, and convey conclusions effectively.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
  • A genuine desire to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • CPA certification.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Understanding of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency landscape.
  • Experience with Netsuite, FloQast, and G-Suite.

Location: This role requires in-person participation at various company and team offsite events, supporting our collaborative team culture.
