Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer who is not only enthusiastic about technology but also excels at engaging clients to tackle intricate challenges. This pivotal role involves migrating mainframe workloads to the cloud, allowing you to leverage your technical expertise and interpersonal skills to foster success in both new and established partnerships.
The Sales Engineering team supports Account Executives in building and expanding partnerships, aiming to enhance revenue opportunities.
Our Sales Engineers are seasoned technical professionals with a robust background in enterprise software sales. You will act as the technical lead on software opportunities, helping to drive business progress independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
Connect with potential clients to comprehend their data integration challenges, particularly those related to transitioning from mainframe systems to cloud environments.
Effectively demonstrate our software solutions, articulating their technical benefits and integration capabilities.
Engage and motivate clients by showcasing solutions that provide tangible value, underpinned by your enthusiasm for the latest database and AI technologies.
Execute impactful proof of concepts that exhibit how our solutions lead the industry in technology.
Communicate technical details clearly to non-technical audiences while establishing credibility with more technical stakeholders.
Utilize your knowledge to identify and qualify business opportunities by analyzing user requirements and technical environments.
Contribute to training and mentoring initiatives for other members of the Sales Engineering team.
Professionally handle objections, respond to inquiries swiftly and clearly, and address challenges assertively and persuasively.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years in relevant sales engineering roles.
Proven experience in presales or consulting positions, with a solid foundation in mainframe or IBMi systems.
Experience managing large-scale enterprise data migration projects.
Deep understanding of data integration, particularly between mainframe databases (e.g., IBM Db2, IMS, VSAM) and cloud-native databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon Redshift).
Expertise in data replication technologies (ETL, CDC) is a plus.
Previous experience in supporting or migrating workloads from mainframe environments is desirable.
Familiarity with data handling security best practices across cloud and mainframe settings.
Excellent problem-solving and requirement-gathering abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, capable of quickly learning and adapting to new concepts and technologies.
Able to work independently and seek team support when necessary.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and occasionally unstructured environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary for this role ranges from $136,085.00 to $170,106.00 annually, with actual compensation depending on skills, experience, and location.
