Summary:

Join our team at Meta, where our data centers are pivotal to our rapidly scaling infrastructure that delivers unmatched services! We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled professional to lead the development of cost-effective energy solutions for our expanding fleet of data centers. As a crucial member of Meta's energy strategy team, you will focus on optimizing grid-scale energy infrastructure to enhance our data center operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating in the creation and execution of energy infrastructure strategies for Meta's data centers.

  2. Analyzing transmission development plans and their cost structures, communicating risks and opportunities effectively.

  3. Evaluating large data sets from grid studies, forecasting system conditions, and developing planning scenarios that account for load growth and renewable energy integration.

  4. Informing commercial strategies to facilitate large-scale transmission development in support of AI data centers.

  5. Partnering with technical teams to further Meta's interests in transmission system development and compliance.

  6. Leading negotiations on transmission projects that align with company policies and presenting insightful recommendations to executive leadership.

  7. Managing communications and project deliverables among utility partners, internal stakeholders, and consultants with a strong degree of autonomy.

  8. Building and maintaining partnerships with diverse internal teams including site selection, engineering, data center design, construction, operations, legal, and finance.

  9. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance project efficiency, resulting in significant time and cost savings.

  10. Leading various ad-hoc energy initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes that provide value to the organization.

  11. Navigating through project ambiguities autonomously while driving projects to completion.

  12. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 25%).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 10+ years of experience with utilities, energy project developers, or energy-intensive sectors.

  3. Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, and interconnection processes along with related electrical infrastructure.

  4. Proficiency in conducting power flow studies (steady-state analysis, contingency, voltage stability) with familiarity in industry-standard software platforms.

  5. Experience in managing large-scale project development and successful execution.

  6. Skills in analytical tools, capable of detecting trends that inform strategic decisions in evolving energy markets.

  7. Exceptional project management skills, adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously.

  8. Strong communication skills with a proven track record of developing and maintaining supplier and stakeholder partnerships.

  9. Intermediate proficiency in Google applications (Sheets, Docs) and Excel.

Public Compensation:

$202,000/year to $273,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
