We have an opportunity for a remote Senior Physician Insurance Specialist (Remote) on our AMA Insurance team. This position will collaborate to maximize AMAI's market share and revenue through sales, promotion and contract negotiations for AMAI's medical professional liability product to meet financial and operational goals. Meet with, establish, manage and maintain ongoing relationships with senior management of existing and new groups. Represent AMAI at conferences, trade shows and other related events, and generate leads to support AMAI's overall sales strategy. Develop and train AMAI personnel on specific selling process and techniques to effectively sell medical liability insurance and build AMA's relationship with existing groups by identifying cross-sell opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Support

  • Develop and implement specific tactical sales plans for negotiating sales and contracts for our medical professional liability product. Work closely with the overall Sales and Marketing leadership to close sales and deliver products within established guidelines to meet sales objectives
  • Manage day-to-day sales activity to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Document sales activity related to customer relationship management to accurately reflect client contact information and progress within the sales cycle using SalesForce. This includes call and meeting activity, discrepancy processing, and order fulfillment. Engage in analysis of reporting systems and call monitoring/quality assurance program to measure performance as required
  • Follow up on leads / referrals resulting from calls, events, webinars and marketing activities
  • Identify days, times, and communication channels most likely to reach potential customers; prioritize leads by quality and/or size of opportunity
  • Develop and maintain talking points, FAQs, responses to common objections, and other sales materials to educate physicians and their families on our products and services and our advantages vs. competition
  • Responsible for in-person and large group sales meetings
Training and Insurance Selling Process
  • Develop and train team on the medical malpractice insurance selling process
  • Serve as SME for other Physician Insurance Specialists
  • Drive external sales by representing AMAI at industry conferences, trade shows, and events. Supports other field sales activities as needed
  • Create and deliver Agency's product and services presentations
  • Develop and implement technology to support the medical malpractice insurance selling process (via SalesForce)
Program Development
  • Contribute to sales and marketing strategy, pricing decisions and competitive analysis by providing/reporting trend information and market intelligence gained through the course of doing business. Offer ideas regarding new products and product enhancements to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience and HS diploma/equivalent education required
  2. 5+ years business-to-business direct sales, product development, business development and/or marketing experience with emphasis in the medical professional liability market. Established industry contacts in the targeted market place also a plus
  3. Must be licensed and appointed in accordance with insurance laws and regulations in the state(s) of operation as defined by the Agency
  4. Polished selling skills, including strong presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate, negotiate, and close sales. Inside sales experience preferred. Able to relate well with all levels of customers. Goal oriented, with proven sales track record of achieving sales quotas
  5. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials, including letters, proposals and contract documents.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to develop relationships, especially in customer relations and internally with forecasting and reporting results
  7. Able to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours
  8. Must have access to a home-based workstation located in a room with a door to avoid distractions; must also have access to an internet connection and phone service
  9. Must be able to use Microsoft Office and SalesForce software
  10. Requires some field travel to conferences and other related industry events


This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $87,394-$115,797. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
