Overview

The Scrum Master is the agile-savvy leader that will help to move our business forward to create dynamic digital experiences that drive efficiency and business results across Gallagher digital properties (including Salesforce and other Marketing systems). As part of the team, you will work alongside curious, self-driven critical thinkers who have an entrepreneurial mindset to create lasting value for our clients and organization on a global scale. Our team works smart by advancing data-lead experiences, embracing iterative product design and actively collaborating across the organization.

The primary focus of this role is to serve as the Scrum Master across our small business and personal lines product teams. You will work with product owners, development leads, design leads and data teams to launch and enhance digital applications that translate business needs into the appropriate web-based solutions. The Scrum Master facilitates, inspires, and guides squads to realize their goals and become successful and self-supporting teams. Great interpersonal skills with ability to engage all levels of the organization are critical to this role along with strong verbal and written communication. Experience in agile events, coaching, scrum metrics, and project management are fundamental. You will need to be a self-starter and will have a mix of business, technical, analytical and communication skills.

You can be fully remote/virtual/work from home and can sit anywhere in the US.

How you'll make an impact

  • Facilitate and provide guidance and coaching for all agile events, including story estimation, backlog story management, retrospectives, etc.
  • Ensure understanding by all teams involved in scoping and sizing product backlog items
  • Create and maintain an environment where all feedback is accepted and expected
  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating project issues and risks
  • Serve as the agile expert to assist and coach team members with varying levels of knowledge of agile and sprint work
  • Provide ongoing agile training for team, product owners, developers and testers
  • Help manage interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and growth opportunities
  • Keep the backlog for the team refined and provide recommendations of general updates that could be made (requirement or roadmap level) to the product owner
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
  • Remove impediments / communicate with stakeholders
  • Create high performing teams by driving continuous improvement
  • Provide advisory on best practices and process hygiene, agile metrics collection
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Agile, Scrum, or related experience
  • Professional Scrum Master certification (CSM, CSP-SM, PSM or A-CSM)
  • Experience in Azure DevOps, JIRA, Trello or similar agile management software.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to interface effectively with a variety of stakeholders of different backgrounds and functions
