Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) offers an exciting opportunity to engage in operations, maintenance, and expansion of cloud services on a significant scale. Your Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
  • Manage rack installations including placing components, cabling, powering up, and handing servers over to provisioning teams.
  • Perform deinstallation of racks by safely removing cabling and rack components.
  • Handle hardware break/fix tasks involving Field Replaceable Units (FRUs).
  • Troubleshoot and fix Telco connectivity issues.
  • Diagnose and replace network switch equipment as necessary.
  • Utilize a ticketing system to communicate with various internal Oracle Cloud service teams.
  • Document all activities and create or modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshoot fiber, copper, and telecom cables.
  • Be capable of executing small projects independently and collaborate with your manager on larger projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware.
  • Genuine eagerness to learn new data center concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a focus on quality assurance.
  • Availability for weekend and holiday shifts as required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an IT environment.
  • Experience in inventory management, including ordering and shipping server parts.
  • Readiness to take on-call shifts and respond to critical incidents as needed.
  • Ability to escalate issues to senior staff and management when necessary.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware concepts including RAID, SAN, SCSI, Linux/Unix.
  • Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A 2-year or 4-year degree, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 1 year+ experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber), testing cables, and understanding cooling and electrical systems in data centers.

Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is from $27.07 to $54.13 per hour, corresponding to an annual salary from $56,300 to $112,600. Candidates are placed based on various factors including experience and market conditions.
