About this Role

Taylor's Construction is seeking dedicated and skilled Construction Laborers to join our telecom construction teams. This entry-level position is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on outdoor work and want to advance their careers in the booming telecommunications industry. You will assist linemen and equipment operators with various construction tasks while upholding our commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality.

What You'll Do

• Assist in installing fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure.
• Perform site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and backfilling.
• Handle cable pulling, loading/unloading materials, and moving equipment on-site.
• Act as a ground guide/spotter for bucket trucks and heavy machinery.
• Set up and maintain work zone safety measures such as cones and signs.
• Clean and maintain vehicles, trailers, tools, and job sites adhering to company standards.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Support linemen with hardware preparation and assist with pole setting or strand staging.
• Follow safety protocols, participate in toolbox talks, and wear PPE consistently.
• Report any safety issues, near misses, or damage to equipment immediately.
• Be prepared for daily travel to job sites and may be required to work extended hours as needed.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in general labor, construction, or utility work preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive tasks in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to report to assigned yard or job site each day.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends as needed.
• Eagerness to learn the telecom trade with potential advancement opportunities into lineman or operator roles.
• Safety-first mindset with good situational awareness.
