Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is a highly experienced and self-directed senior contributor to our Finance and Accounting team. This position is responsible for delivering strategic financial insights and reporting that supports executive and senior business line leaders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, deep financial acumen, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic banking environment.

Core Financial Analysis & Reporting

Analyze income statements and P&L statements to identify trends, variances, and performance drivers. Lead and support annual budget planning, collaborating with department heads and senior leaders to align financial goals with strategic objectives. Monitor non-interest expenses against budget throughout the year, providing variance analysis and recommendations for cost control. Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and strategic relevance. Develop and maintain forecasting models to support financial planning and scenario analysis.

Strategic Business Support

Partner with senior business line leaders to provide financial insights that inform decision-making and operational strategy. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, regulatory inquiries, or executive requests. Provide expert level assistance to the CFO for other projects as assigned, including budgeting, M&A analysis, etc.

Process Improvement & Data Integrity

Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, tools, and data accuracy. Collaborate with IT and data teams to enhance reporting systems and ensure data integrity across platforms. Support automation initiatives to streamline recurring reporting and analysis tasks.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure financial reporting complies with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits as needed.

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required, master's degree or CPA preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years working in financial analysis, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial systems is a plus. Demonstrated ability to apply advanced financial concepts required. Must be strategic, analytical, and a strong communicator with the ability to drive key decisions. Proven ability to work independently and manage complex projects.
