Overview
ERM is seeking a degreed staff level (0-2 years of experience) Consulting Associate, Civil, Environmental or Geotechnical Engineer to work in our Charleston, WV office with our technical team delivering support services to our client base in the energy, manufacturing, mining and chemical industries throughout the United States. Immediate needs exist for the Charleston, WV; Pittsburgh, PA; and Minneapolis, MN areas. This is a remote/hybrid position with flexibility in working schedule.
Responsibilities
- Work efficiently from a remote location and provide dependable communication of schedule, work products, and tasks for yourself and the teams you will work with.
- Focus on civil design and environmental support for a variety of projects which may include field work/sampling, construction monitoring, engineering design, permit application preparation support and report preparation.
- Assist with the development of various civil/environmental engineering designs and deliverables such as site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, and technical reports.
- Engage in multiple projects concurrently. Projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse.
- Prepare for, execute and debrief effectively regarding assigned field work.
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
- Comply with health, safety, and risk aspects of a project in compliance with ERM's Health and Safety Program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or current registration for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
- Experience with computer modeling software such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS software, and/or Hydraflow/HydroCAD is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to research and support preparation of memorandums, field reports and sections of reports.
- Prior relevant internship or professional experience in civil/environmental field is a plus.
- Attention to detail in reviewing your own work.
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of a project team.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including effectively communicating with the Project Manager.
- Willingness to travel for field work is a plus. Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
