Secondary Virtual School Facilitator

Location:

Central Office Itinerant (5 Positions)

Reports To:

Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction

Salary:

$55 Per Hour
ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS
Qualifications:

  1. Valid West Virginia teaching certificate
  2. Preference given to individuals with a valid secondary West Virginia teaching certificate
  3. Preference given to individuals with a knowledge of analyzing data
  4. Preference given to individuals who demonstrate effective coaching, communication and technology integration skills
  5. Preference given to those who have received professional development in online programs
  6. Works independently with little direct supervision
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and other professionals on a regular basis
  8. Ability to accept responsibility and is self-motivated
  9. Ability to demonstrate strong work ethic to achieve goals
  10. Skilled in effective prioritizing and time management

Responsibilities
  1. This person will monitor and support secondary WV virtual school students
  2. Must have contact with students two times per week
  3. Keep electronic weekly progress reports for each student and submit to school principal and curriculum director
  4. Must be able to meet the needs of the students with varying needs
  5. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, families, peers, and community
  6. Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate
  7. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with students
  8. Troubleshooting technical problems and seeking technical assistance as needed
  9. Contact students via TEAMS/phone
  10. Communicating with families of students to keep them informed of student progress
  11. Must respond to students and families in a timely manner
