Food Service & Catering, University of Charleston
Job Summary:
The University of Charleston seeks a full-time Food Service employee to join the Culinary Team; previous cooking experience is required. Must be able to work weekends and nights as needed and shifts will vary.
Essential Functions:
* Prepares recipes for meal periods
* Garnishes and places food items at the appropriate stations
* Ensures and maintains proper sanitation of the kitchen
* Uses proper portioning
* Answers customer questions accurately on menu items
* Assists in restocking and clean-up of the kitchen and serving stations at the end of the service period
* Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
* Must be able to read and follow recipes and follow directions.
* Experienced with general kitchen procedures
* Understands the importance of health department and AVI Fresh food and safety guidelines
* Must be a team player and perform well in meeting deadlines
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as necessary
* Willing to work nights/weekends/overtime as needed
* Must understand the importance of security and confidentiality associated with a university campus
