Job Summary: The Supportive Counselor will be under the direction/supervision of the Clinical Director and is responsible for performing basic activities of a Supportive Counselor to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, quality recovery support, patient care, and recovery tools to the substance abuse patients being treated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS ● Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field PREFERRED SKILLS ● Strong Interpersonal skills ● Excellent Communication and listening skills ● Ability to build rapport quickly ● Detail oriented ● Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy ● Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
Certifications All certifications will be required to be completed prior to start date with revalidation per company's policy ● HIPAA ● Adult CPR - First Aid ● Blood Borne Pathogens CPI validation required within 30 days of employment with revalidation per company's policy.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES ● Develop a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and their client ● Participates as an integral professional member of an interdisciplinary ● treatment team led by a clinical director ● Assists the treatment team in the development and implementation of a ● Treatment plan specific with developmental needs and/or required ● Intervention. ● Helps their client to find ways to resolve issues they might be having ● Give support, listen to people and help them talk over their problems. ● Keep notes and documentation of interactions with clients ● Always follow organization's policies and procedures ● Perform any other duties assigned
