Integrated Health 21 (IH21) is a prominent provider of worksite wellness screenings and vaccination clinics throughout the continental United States. With our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and additional offices in Syracuse, NY and Milwaukee, WI, IH21 collaborates with employers and insurance companies to create customized health and wellness events aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of employees and their insured. We are eager to recruit phlebotomists who are well-versed in corporate wellness programs.

This is a PRN, as-needed position, and our events typically occur during regular business hours on weekdays.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Your role will involve performing comprehensive health risk screening assessments and providing insightful counseling on health risk screening results during Employee Health Screening Events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome participants and guide them through the screening process as needed.
  • Measure participant height using a stadiometer and weight using a scale.
  • Conduct resting blood pressure assessments with a manual blood pressure cuff.
  • Perform finger sticks for blood samples and accurately operate Cholestech LDX/Cardiocheck equipment while minimizing error and waste.
  • Assess lipid panel and glucose values obtained from the Cholestech LDX/Cardiocheck testing.
  • Execute venipuncture blood draws within two attempts as necessary.
  • Record participant screening data meticulously on paper or via an electronic tablet.
  • Perform basic data entry into a database program using an electronic device.
  • Assist in troubleshooting any screening issues as they arise.
  • Help set up and dismantle biometric screening equipment.
  • Transport testing equipment to and from various locations, which may require using stairs.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including fainting, hypoglycemia, seizures, and cardiac arrest. This includes safely assisting participants to the floor and administering care up to and including CPR, as well as contacting emergency response personnel.
  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines to ensure participant confidentiality.
  • Undertake additional screening duties and modalities as assigned by management, based on training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Job responsibilities take place in various client site locations, requiring adaptation to different environments.
  • Ability to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Capacity to bend and lift supplies as required.
  • Adequate strength to raise/lift arms to utilize the stadiometer for measuring height.
  • Ability to lift or carry boxes of supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds, possibly involving stairs.
  • May need to push/pull weights of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist or lift participants experiencing medical emergencies safely and follow protocol for assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma/GED, completion of a phlebotomy or medical assistant program.

EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, including obtaining biometrics (manual blood pressure, height, weight, calculate BMI), along with experience in performing venipuncture or fingerstick capillary draws.

REQUIREMENTS: Current CPR certification is required. Current phlebotomy and/or medical certification preferred or mandated by state regulations.
