Data Engineer. Position available at Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. in Charleston, WV. Resp. for following duties: Provide high-level prof. & tech. skills in support of designing, building, & maintaining databases, & cloud platforms to support needs of CAMC Research team; Collaborate w/people moving projects forward & working to improve systems & processes along way; Develop documentation that assists staff in identifying, locating, & using org's data; Build & maintain datasets & data marts; Create scripts & programs to automate data opers.; Provide technical/consultative services to internal/external research partners, investigators, & research personnel; Integrate/transform health-related data from variety of sources/formats into analyzable formats for research; Accountability for project deliverables; Keep abreast of current application developments through continuing education, professional reading, online forums, conferences, workshops, & professional groups; Extensive training of junior team members to ensure their technical growth; Provide leadership/technical expertise for design, creation, testing & maintenance of innovative medical research-focused “big data” repositories; Other duties. Reqs: Master's degree or foreign equiv. degree in Comp. Science, Info. Systems, Health Informatics or related field or in the alternative a Bachelor's degree or foreign equiv. degree in Comp. Science, Info. Systems, Health Informatics or related field & 5 yrs of progressive exp. with database development in a healthcare and/or health research setting & data warehousing, including ETL techniques. Knowledge of SQL, SPSS & SAS; Knowledge of MySQL & Cerner. Knowledge of computerized statistical analysis tools, statistical techniques, computer programming & application development/maintenance.
