REPORTS TO: Special Education Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess the knowledge skills and ability to successfully carry out responsibilities of the position.
  • Master's Degree or higher in School Psychology, or eligible to enter School Psychologist Internship at start of 2025/2025 School Year
  • Background in Tier I,II,and III services in teh area of mental health, behavioral support and academics.
  • Background in school psychology/assessment preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work cooperatively with school personnel to ensure extended school mental health services are provided to identified students.
  • Implement and maintain a continuum of services at both the elementary and high school.
  • Provided and/or facilitate at least 2 evidence-based programs at a Tier I services with a focus on suicide prevention, substance
    misuse, bullying, and other academic skill builders.
  • Provided and/or facilitate at least 2 evidence-based programs at a Tier II services for at risk students which can include referral services,
    study groups, tutoring, mentoring, intervention groups, and other tiered services to address anger, social skills, substance abuse, and other needs
    identified.
  • Provided and/or facilitate Tier III services who have involved needs as identified, which could include individual, group, or family therapy interventions.
  • Coordinate district Substance Abuse Prevention Program with a focus on providing evidence based programing at Tier I, II, and III programming for substance abuse.
  • Establish and lead a leadership team that includes all stakeholders to support expanded school mental health programming, which includes strategic
    planning that address all facets of programming.
  • Utilize the School Health Assessment and Performance Evaluation System to assess school mental health and sustainability.
  • Work to decrease school wide in and out-of-school suspensions.
  • Utilize Youth Services Survey and YSS-Family surveys annually for student who receive Tier III services.
  • Provide training in the areas of suicide prevention, CANS, trauma-informed care, PBIS, PBS, and other trainings as identified.
  • Explore and secure all available revenue sources (e.g., WV Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance).
  • Obtain feedback for services rendered and utilized data to improve services.
  • Provide after-hours and non-traditional hours of availability to meet the individual needs of those served.
  • Maintain documentation of services, planning meetings, progressional development, data from assessments/evaluations/surveys, and other data identified.
  • And other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Salary based on experience and education level per state salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct

200 Day Contract
