The West Virginia Department of Health and the Department of Health Facilities are seeking an innovative Communications Specialist to support impactful internal and external communications for two of the states most vital agencies.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Communications within the Office of the Cabinet Secretary, this position plays a key role in crafting and delivering messages that inform, engage, and inspire West Virginians.
You will:
Develop compelling content including press releases, speaking points, fact sheets, and publications
Create website and social media content that drives engagement and trust
Collaborate on high-visibility initiatives that often address sensitive and important public health topics
Help shape the voice and public image of the Department across multiple platforms

What You Bring
A Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, English, or a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong judgment, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality
