Nature of Work

This position will perform all duties as the Sanitarian Training Coordinator. This position will also perform regional sanitarian duties that will include assistance and consultation to the local health department and providing on-the-job training (OJT) to all new sanitarians at the local health department. The Sanitarian Training Coordinator is responsible for scheduling training class for newly hired Sanitarians, preparing the agenda, arranging speakers for course content, providing all the materials to trainees and tracking progress of attendees. The Sanitarian Training Coordinator will assist the local health departments in all eight regions to plan Regional In-Service meetings to accommodate the CEH requirement of the WV State Board of Sanitarians. This position will also provide support for the local health departments for EH Cloud database system.


Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

AND

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a sanitarian.

OR

Substitution: A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in public health, environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science or agriculture may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Special Requirements: Must be licensed as a registered sanitarian by the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians or be eligible to be licensed with the Board per the Reciprocity section of the Practice of Public Health Sanitation, W. Va. Code R. ยง20-4-4 et seq. Must possess a valid driver's license. Availability of an automobile for continuous use may be a requisite for employment.
