Description of the role:

As a caregiver at Village Caregiving - Point Pleasant, your main responsibility will be to provide compassionate and personalized care to our clients in Hurricane, West Virginia. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of elderly and disabled individuals by assisting with their daily activities and promoting their well-being. This is a rewarding role that requires patience, empathy, and a strong dedication to putting the needs of others first.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with mobility and transfers
• Provide medication reminders
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up client's living space
• Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with clients to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings as needed
• Document and report any changes in client's health or behavior to the supervisor

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role (preferred)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients and their families
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, such as lifting and assisting with transfers
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
