West Virginia University/Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained interventional radiologist to join two experienced interventional radiologists in our growing practice in the state's premier health care institution. This position is 100% interventional radiologywith no diagnostic radiology responsibilities and will offer protected academic time. CAMC includes a cancer center, a level 1 trauma center, and a women and children's hospital. Work is predominantly at CAMC Memorial Hospital, where there is a state-of-the-art Siemens angio-CT room, to support a full practice including percutaneous ablation, chemoembolization, radioembolization, portal hypertension intervention, and complex drainage and a dedicated IR suite with a new GE interventional CT, an US procedure room.
Interventional radiology is part of the division of vascular surgery, within the department of surgery. It is a fully clinical practice, with a dedicated clinic, advanced practitioner, and first call coverage by residents and fellows. Vascular surgery is a multidisciplinary group containing vascular surgeons, interventional medicine physicians, interventional radiologists and cardiologists, who participate in a collaborative, academic environment. IR physicians participate in call to cover complex drainage bleeding from trauma, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and portal hypertension.
The ideal candidate is radiology board-certified, CAQ eligible and interested in serving a population with high levels of vascular disease, cancer, and portal hypertension. The candidate would enjoy working collaboratively with surgical colleagues and be interested in participating in tumor board and training of fellows and residents.
