General Description
This part-time position is limited to 1,039 hours a calendar year. The purpose of this class within the organization is to provide a broad range of administrative duties and other assistance in the overall daily operation of the City of Charleston Municipal Court system including, but not limited to data entry and assisting during court sessions.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Essential Functions:
Strives to be efficient and effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable expectations of core constitutes.
Contributes towards the department's mission by continuously striving to meet expectations, strategic goals and objectives.
Provides customer service; answers phone; speaks with customers in person at the counter and filing.
Assists the Municipal Judge and Court Clerk during court sessions.
Performs data processing of State of West Virginia Uniform Citations and Criminal Complaints.
Additional Duties:
Ensures the information is entered correctly in the system; provides defendants with copies of citations and or complaints.
Performs other various clerical duties including but not limited to filing, faxing, shredding, answering phone calls and email correspondence.
Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent; Associate Degree in related field desired.
Requires knowledge in the use of a personal computer and in the application of Microsoft Office Products.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Notary Public or the ability to obtain.
