IT Support Technician
Location: Culloden, WV
Reports to: IT Support Supervisor
Position Summary:
Service Wire is a premier manufacturer of industrial, utility, and commercial wire and cable. We are currently seeking an ambitious and customer-oriented Desktop Support Technician to support our Culloden facilities in this full-time, hourly position. In this role at Service Wire, you will play an integral role in troubleshooting IT issues, managing inventories of key supplies, overseeing contractors through implementations and ensuring proper set-up of IT items. The ideal candidate who has a passion for serving others, organization and technology to ensure business continuity of the Culloden operations.
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
* Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer accessories
* Resolves internal user issues and ensures correct operation of computers
* Educates on cybersecurity policies and best practices and serves as a source of information on IT policies and procedures with the Culloden teams
* Maintains parts inventory and logs all service/repair activity
* Perform system setups for new hires and issue any additional assets needed in role changes
* Ensure effectiveness of system throughout the facilities
* Provide assistance and training to all members in the use of our computer network and other interfaces
* Assist with the management of the cooperative's communications and information hardware and software, with primary responsibility for alarm systems, telephone, and computer systems
* Work within our ticketing system to create detailed work logs and technical documentation
* Coordinate with corporate support at escalating issues as needed and ensuring customer expectation is set with timeline of resolutions
* Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or other relevant fields strongly preferred
* Related industrial IT experience or training a plus but not required
* Strong verbal/written communication and phone skills
* Ability to operate Microsoft office products and related computer applications
* Organizational skills and time management experience juggling multiple competing priorities
* Experience troubleshooting a variety of desktop issues
* Regularly stands, bends, and reaches for extended periods and moves about the site and occasionally lifts and moves materials up to 50 pounds; assistance provided as needed
