Position: District Supervisor

Reports to: Director of Operations

Purpose of Position: Ensure the implementation of corporate plans, budgets, customer service, employee training, profitability and accountability of retail stores.

  1. Participate with the Director of Operations in formulating and administering company policies, developing long range goals and objective of the stores.
  2. Direct, coordinate and participate in the training, development and maintaining procedures for the efficient, effective customer service in the retail store operations.
  3. Make recommendations on business concepts, planning and changes or streamlining of operational structure and systems to the Director of Operations
  4. Train all Store Managers on the Rewards Program procedures and hold Store Managers accountable for training and holding employees accountable for following correct procedures.
  5. Ensure Store Managers have adequately staffed stores with employees who are trained to meet or exceed company quality standards.
  6. Ensure Store Managers provide training and direction to store employees regarding all retail store operations.
  7. Driving on Company Business: Consistently maintain and provide a current valid driver's license and proof of insurance on a vehicle you will be using to drive for company purposes including but not limited to: banking, gas surveys, or other company duties. To be considered for, or remain in the Store Manager position you must have the items required above in addition to a signed Statement of Understanding recognizing that you are aware of said requirements.
  8. Hire, train and supervise Store Managers in obtaining results which meet or exceed company policies, procedures and standards in the areas including, but not limited to:
  9. Payroll Expenses Control
  10. Competitive Gasoline Pricing
  11. Miscellaneous Expense Control
  12. Price Changes
  13. On Time Store Reporting and Accuracy
  14. Inventory Shrink Control
  15. Control of Operating Inventory
  16. Store Appearance and Image
  17. Morale of Employees
  18. Maintenance of Gross Profit Margin
  19. Maintenance of Deli Cost
  20. Employee Training
  21. Implementation and enforcement of all operational procedures and controls.
  22. Supervise Store Managers in a manner which will result in implementation and maintenance of corporation marketing philosophy including, but not limited to:
  23. Pricing
  24. Product Mix
  25. Vendor Selection
  26. Advertising
  27. Store Signage
  28. In-Store Layout
  29. Temporary and Permanent Promotional & Rewards Programs
  30. Accountable for hiring, training, performance reviews, motivation, disciplinary actions and termination of Store Managers, according to company policy.
  31. Prepare store forecasts and budgets with the Director of Operations, prepare ongoing analysis to determine store progress toward stated goals and objectives of forecast/budget.
  32. Increase sales and gross margin dollars through development of effective customer service strategies for all retail stores.
  33. Develop and maintain a professional corporate image that is consistently customer and market focused.
  34. Accountable for full financial review of each store including but not limited to: cash over/short, inventory shrink, safety, profitability, labor costs, cleanliness, customer service, in accordance with company standards and profitability.
  35. Ensure all laws, license, permits and renewals necessary for the overall operations of the retail stores are renewed, updated and the Store Managers and employees remain in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and necessary controls, including but not limited to: lottery, alcohol, tobacco, health, fuel regulations, etc.
  36. Keep clear channels of communication open with fellow co-workers, management team, store managers and customers in compliance with company guidelines.
  37. Develop and maintain a professional corporate image that is consistently customer and market directed.
  38. Ensure all decisions regarding employees and company issues are made from an objective and liability analysis of the situation in question.
  39. Maintain regular store visits to ensure Store Managers are operating stores in a manner consistent with company policy including the following:
  40. One written store inspection per month in each store utilizing the company Store Inspection Form. This form must be turned in to the President in a timely manner according to company policy.
  41. A minimum number of store visits performed consistently according to company policy.
  42. The Supervisor will be held accountable for:
  43. Normal control of products from authorized vendors and maintenance firm.
  44. Hiring, disciplinary actions, termination and directing employees under their supervision.
  45. Training and direct all employees in the methods and procedures for notifying proper company management level employees and civil authorities in the event of an emergency or anticipated emergency.
  46. Availability: must be available by telephone to enable communications with assigned stores at all times.
  47. Driving on Company Business: Consistently maintain and provide a current valid driver's license and proof of insurance to be considered for and remain in the position of District Manager.


PAR MAR STORES

PHYSICAL/MENTAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Position: District Supervisor

Reports to: Director of Operations

  1. Must be able to stand up to an eight (8) to ten (10) hour shift on a hard surface floor in order to perform all type of job duties and responsibilities.
  2. Must be able to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds up to 5 feet high without the aid of another person, in stocking the store.
  3. Must be able to lift items onto a dolly and maneuver dolly into position.
  4. Must be able to work in a cold environment in stocking the coolers and freezers.
  5. Must be able to push and/or pull a mop/broom or shovel in order to clean floors, parking areas and sidewalks.
  6. Must be able to tolerate chemicals such as gasoline, cleaning agents, and other products necessary for customer service or cleaning the facility.
  7. Must be able to maintain balance and climb up to eight (8) feet on a step ladder or climb into the attic in order to stock and arrange coolers and shelves, replenish cups, ice, etc., in the fountain area and changing signs.
  8. Must be able to bend, twist and reach in order to perform various job functions such as washing windows and gas pumps, stocking shelves, coolers and fountain areas and picking up trash.
  9. Must be able to handle a variety of shapes, sizes, and textures. Items handled include, but are not limited to: stock items, money, credit cards, supplies and paper work.
  10. Must be able to use fingers bilaterally and unilaterally:
  11. The fingers are used bilaterally to count money, unload boxes, operate machines/equipment and to perform various other job functions.
  12. The fingers are used unilaterally to punch in prices on the cash register and computer.
  13. Must be able to have corrected hearing to listen to:
  14. The needs and direction from management;
  15. The needs of customers; and
  16. The environment to be aware of surroundings.
  17. Must be able to have corrected vision to:
  18. Be aware of surroundings and location of products and customers;
  19. Identify colors and descriptions of automobiles at gas pumps; and
  20. Count money, read price tags, cash register and gas pumps and perform job duties.
  21. Environmental conditions: must be able to work around various odors, dust and fumes in a mostly moderate temperature, except for extreme cold below 40 degrees in refrigerator/coolers or the drive in winter conditions.
  22. Must be able to have dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and force in the use of deli meat slicers and knives in a safe manner which meets company standards.
  23. Must be able to understand and use all safety equipment when slicing and cleaning machinery.
  24. Must be able to perform tanks inventory by reading the fuel tanks manually by lifting the 20-30 pound lids off the tank by using a screwdriver then sticking the tanks or by inserting the tool into the lid and accurately reading the measurement.
  25. Must not be short-tempered and must be slow to anger and able to respond in a calm demeanor in stressful situations such as dealing with customers who may be dissatisfied.
  26. Must be alert and able to identify a hazard in order to avoid it by reporting immediately, or if necessary, take immediate corrective measures.
  27. Must be able to physically react in an immediate manner to emergencies such as fires, fuel spills, robberies or other life threatening situations.
  28. Have the ability to coach, train and develop employees to perform the functions of their job duties in a manner that results in achievements meeting the standards of the company.
  29. Have the ability to legally operate a vehicle on a daily basis in various environments and traffic conditions in making store rounds.
  30. Must be able to physically get in and out of the vehicle many times a day in making store visits, assisting store managers and solving customer issues, vendor problems and emergencies of all types.
