About The Role

Monks is looking to expand our creative service capabilities by hiring a Freelance Senior Video Editor. Reporting to the Associate Director of Animation, you will help build the creative offering for a top performance marketing agency. You will partner with our media buying team and clients to develop creative that drives results. We are looking for a fast, flexible go-getter with a sharp eye, adept skills, and the drive to deliver top-notch creative for our clients.

Youll be responsible for editing short-form paid media ads for digital channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) both net-new and from existing client materials. Youll be a motion generalist, at times jumping from animation into short-form video editing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers and producers to create ads driving performance results for client media programs
• Knowledge in coloring, VFX and sound design
• Ability to do basic 3D text animations is a plus
• Strong time management, leading multiple motion-based projects with tight timelines
• Project managing yourself, fluidly jumping between multiple projects
• Own revision and resizing projects for large clients
• Conceptualize animated content optimized for paid media channels
• Understand or learn paid media channel best practices
• Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud, with focus on After Effects and Premiere Pro

About You

The essentials:

• 4-6 years of technical experience with video editing and light motion design, preferably at a performance-focused agency
• Strong ability to create precise edits for paid channels
• Experience in end-to-end editing process, ensuring seamless delivery of online edits
• Basic understanding of color grading, SFX and sound design
• Portfolio is required
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in After Effects and Premiere
• Experience in paid media ad editing and animation
• 4-year college degree (preferably in design) or equivalent work experience

Not a Must, But a Plus

• Experience with HTML5 ad animation
• Experience using Gen AI tools for ad builds and concepting
• Experience building versioning workflows or working with automated versioning tools
• Familiarity with Google suite
• B2C and B2B experience

What We Offer

Monks provides an hourly rate that represents its good faith estimate of pay for the position at the time of posting. The rate may be higher or lower based on job-related factors, but not on protected status.

Hourly Rate: $40$55 USD
