WAREHOUSE CLERK
SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICE PERSONNEL
TO ASSIST IN RECEIVING/DELIVERING FOOD SERVICE/EDUCATIONAL/CUSTODIAL SUPPLIES
A. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To assist in the operation that ensures full efficiency in the acquisition and
distribution of educational, food service, and custodial supplies.
B. RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS:
1. Work under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director.
2. Work with other staff assigned to help maintain inventory and stock control.
3. Work with principals and other school staff in order to ensure proper distribution of
supplies and materials from warehouse stock by proper requisition procedures.

D. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
1. Must have obtained a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Must have successfully passed the State Competency Test for Warehouse Clerk or
holds or has held the Classification of Warehouse Clerk.
3. Ability to operate a fork lift and physical ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
4. Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities, such as:
a. Valid West Virginia driver's license
b. Ability to take inventory
c. Ability to organize supplies properly
d. Ability to check invoices
E. FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
1. Unpack items received and inspect for damage or defects.
2. Verifies accuracy of shipment by counting, weighing, or measuring items and
comparing size, weight, and description, and code numbers with information on
invoice or packing slip and purchase order; records any discrepancies or damage.
3. Marks identifying information on items and enters inventory in established
procedure.
4. Stores items according to established procedures.
5. Takes items from stock to fill requisitions and carries them or delivers them by hand
or truck to requesting departments or schools, obtains authorized signature for
supplies on proper forms.
6. Takes physical count periodically of stock on hand and verifies count with inventory
control totals.
7. Requisitions additional supplies, as needed, from Purchasing Department.
8. Maintains storeroom in orderly manner.
Terms of Employment: Up to 20 hours per week as needed, $15 per hour
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Service
Personnel.
